- Order data: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number (if given), items ordered.
- Payment data is handled by our payment providers; we do not store card numbers.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To process and deliver your order and handle returns (contract).
- To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations (legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud and keep the shop secure (legitimate interests).
- To measure and improve the website and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising (consent).
Who we share it with
We share data only as needed with: our store platform (Shopify), payment providers, our fulfilment supplier (Hertwill) and the brand warehouses and carriers that dispatch and deliver your order, and analytics and advertising providers where you have consented.
International transfers
We are based in South Africa, and our providers may process data outside the EEA. Where required we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
We keep order records for as long as required by tax and accounting law, and other data only as long as needed for the purposes above.
Your rights
You can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@balticboots.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
